ADESIGN FAIR 2003, being realized with the collaboration of AD art+decor magazine and Ikon Fair Organizations, will highlight the significance of design in our “LIFE SPACE”, willing to enable the “meeting of designers and producers with professionals and consumers from Turkey and abroad in an environment where they will presents the most recent and innovative design works and products. The long term aim of ADESIGN FAIR 2003 is to position Turkey as a leading force in design field among Europe, Middle East, The Balkan States and the Black Region.
ADESIGN FAIR 2003 has four main categories; LIFE SPACE, CONCEPT, STUDIO and DESIGN AID. Apart from these categories, It will be supported by exhibitions, colloqui, conferences, panel discussions, workshops and special presentations of famous designers.
In the LIFE SPACE category, consists of producer companies’ works. New, original and copywrited designs, produced for the use in home and office environments, will define the Life Space section. Latest trends will be exhibited and new product launches of participants is planned to be realized. Giving participants the opportunity to exhibit both their products and their production process, the fair will underline one more time the importance of design in the industry.
The CONCEPT category will be the place where designs, coplementary to Life Space, will be exhibited. The articles of different sectors such as;
- Apparel
- Shoes, Sports’ Materials
- Jewellery
- Toys
- Packaging
- Internet
- Stationery
- Graphics etc. will be exhibited by pre-eminent designers and manufacturers.
STUDIO, the place where in any subject, independent designers, design groups, design studios and institutions giving design education could exhibit their projects. This category will help foreign and resident designers to be acquainted with each other and with producers, so that new co-operations could be born.
DESIGN AID, category will be designers’ needs oriented, then Articles of state-of-technology, materials and services; from computers to modelling materials, from educational institutions to patent offices, softwares such as CAD etc., drawing materials will be exhibited and demos are intented to be presented.
In the frame of ADESIGN FAIR 2003, there will be two competition categories:
- “Design of the Year”
- “Designer of the Year”
In the years ahead, the best works will be selected among those of the designers reffered by the educational institutions, and “Young Designer of the Year” will be granted. However, this year, the products of the candidates will be chosen by the participants. Then, they will be exhibited throughout ADESIGN FAIR 2003. The visitors’ votes will be decisive for the result of the competition and the last day of fair, the award ceremony will take place.
With the realization of ADESIGN FAIR 2003, the second week of September will be celebrated as “Design Week”. In the frame of the event, during the entire week, not only in ICEC but in the studios, stores of participants and supporters, different type of events such as showroom exhibitions, discussion forums, presentations will take place in order to contribute to the expansion of good and current design perception.
Throughout the fair, various subjects concerning designers and producers will be covered in panel discussions, conferences and workshops, so that participants and visitors will have the opportunity to reach the information about latest developments and trends from international designers and producers at first hand.
ADESIGN FAIR 2003, being realized in ICEC, Istanbul, will be promoted with great media support, through magazines, newspapers, outdoor, TV and radios with the partnership of AD (art+decor) magazine related to DBR group (montly circulation: 580.000). The public attention will be attracted to “Design” as a sector.
Providing a new medium for producers to launch their new products and for good manufacturers to help them bring their new products to the trade agenda, the fair will last five days. The fair will be open for the first three days to architects, interior designers, decorator, designers, corporate consumers, product managers, merchandisers and for the last two days to the public.
